Large Scale 138kV Transmission Modernization - Ohio

Power | Transmission & Distribution | Overhead Distribution | Ohio

Aldridge is leading a massive 86-mile transmission line installation and removal project for a major utility partner in the Midwest. This comprehensive modernization effort involves the complete removal of aging lattice towers and legacy conductors to make way for a state-of-the-art double circuit system. Our teams are installing 508 new structures utilizing R8 style double circuit monopoles supported by specialized drilled pier foundations.

The scale of this project is significant, requiring the installation of approximately 2,800,000 feet of new conductor and 1,000,000 feet of new OPGW and OHGW. As part of an integrated EPC team, Aldridge is responsible for the field implementation of updated line settings to ensure the new system operates at peak efficiency. While our work spans a vast 90-mile corridor, our regional presence is anchored in Tiffin, Ohio. This project has allowed Aldridge to establish a strong foothold in the local community, reflecting our philosophy of maintaining a national footprint with a dedicated regional presence. By managing the simultaneous removal of legacy infrastructure and the installation of new high capacity lines, we are significantly strengthening regional grid reliability while serving as a committed local partner to the communities where we work.
