Terminal EV Charging Infrastructure – California

Transportation | Ports & Intermodals | Electric Mobility | California

Aldridge played a key role in supporting the transition to sustainable port operations by delivering critical electrical infrastructure for a major terminal's EV fleet at the Port of LA. The scope of work involved intercepting existing power and extending it to a relocated substation to support nine Level 3 chargers. Additionally, the project included the installation of Level 2 chargers for pedestrian vehicles.

A significant technical and logistical challenge involved navigating a new inspection landscape with the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. Through disciplined communication and technical expertise, our project team developed a strong rapport with both building and electrical inspectors, ensuring all requirements were met. The project was completed ahead of a critical year-end deadline, directly supporting the terminal's goal of reaching a 30% electric fleet and making significant progress toward its net-zero objectives.
