Major Wastewater Treatment Plant Electrical Upgrades – Illinois
Electrical Infrastructure | Wastewater Facilities | Illinois
Aldridge is leading the electrical infrastructure upgrades at two of the largest wastewater treatment plants in DuPage County, modernizing systems that have supported millions of gallons of daily water treatment for decades. These improvements replace electrical infrastructure that had been in service for over 40 years with components that are no longer manufactured and increasingly prone to failure. As the prime contractor for this essential work, Aldridge is executing one of the largest public works investments the county has made in the past 25 years. The primary challenge of the project is completing a full electrical overhaul while keeping both facilities fully operational. Cutovers are sequenced one motor control center at a time, each requiring careful planning to limit downtime to just eight hours. Our scope includes new duct banks, manholes, medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, E-Houses, and all associated wiring and terminations. By utilizing full Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) modeling and prefabricated duct bank and riser assemblies, the team has streamlined installation while minimizing disruption to the facility. The result is a future ready electrical system that will serve the community for decades to come.
