Infrastructure Improvements in the Nation’s Capital - Washington, DC

Aldridge is enhancing motorist safety and extending the life of a critical transportation corridor just outside Washington, DC. The tunnel, operated by the local Department of Transportation, serves as a vital gateway to the Nation’s Capital.

The project scope includes the installation of a temporary lighting system, replacement of nearly 500 lighting fixtures across two parallel vehicular tunnels, and the installation of over 200 prefabricated lighting racks. Aldridge is also replacing electrical gear in the equipment rooms and installing a fire-rated Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system to improve overall safety and security.

To improve efficiency and safety, Aldridge is leveraging prefabricated lighting assemblies. This approach accelerates installation, ensures consistent quality, and reduces on-site labor, minimizing worker exposure to live traffic and high-risk environments.
