Under the Helmet: Intern Program

At Aldridge, we believe in building more than infrastructure - we build people. Our nationally recognized internship program is designed to give students more than a summer job. It offers real-world construction experience, personal development, and a front-row seat to what it means to be part of a high-performing infrastructure team.

We’re excited to showcase our program in action with this short video, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the opportunities, mentorship, and meaningful work our interns are part of each year.

A Hands-On Experience

Unlike traditional internships, Aldridge interns don’t just observe; they contribute. From day one, they’re immersed in real project environments. Whether assisting on civil and electrical infrastructure projects, supporting project management teams, or observing field execution, interns gain hands-on construction experience that accelerates their learning far beyond the classroom.

Our interns have the opportunity to travel to active job sites, collaborate with seasoned professionals, and gain exposure to large-scale projects in power, transportation, and mission-critical markets. This level of real-world responsibility is what makes the Aldridge program stand out.

Safety Culture That Starts on Day One

At Aldridge, safety is more than compliance; it's a core value. Interns participate in our Incident and Injury Free (IIF) orientation, learning to view safety as a mindset, not a checklist. In the field, they apply this perspective by engaging with crews, observing daily huddles, and identifying real risks alongside experienced safety leaders.

This investment in a strong safety culture ensures our interns understand the responsibility that comes with working in construction and the care we show for the people we work with every day.

Mentorship and Career Development

Each intern is paired with a mentor who provides support, guidance, and feedback throughout the program. These relationships help interns develop communication skills, understand team dynamics, and gain clarity on potential career paths within the industry.

By the end of the internship, participants walk away with improved technical knowledge, leadership potential, and a strong understanding of Aldridge’s people-first culture.

“The program helped me grow faster than I expected. I learned how crews work together, how to communicate on site, and what it really means to be accountable.” – Former Intern
