Safety Week 2025: Strengthening Our Commitment to Safety, Together
From May 5–9, 2025, teams nationwide participated in Safety Week through daily toolbox talks, hands-on demonstrations, and open dialogue about the risks we face and the systems we rely on to stay safe. Each day focused on a critical topic that shapes how we work, plan, and lead:
Start Work Authority
We kicked off the week by focusing on the importance of strong planning. Before any task begins, it’s critical to step back, assess the job, and ensure that every team member understands the scope, risks, and controls in place. Across job sites, crews discussed how we use Critical Planning Tools (CPTs) to align on high-risk activities and reduce exposures.
Controls Save Lives
Our work intersects with high-energy hazards every day—those with the potential to Seriously Hurt or Killed (SHOK). Teams explored how we identify these exposures and implement the strongest possible controls to mitigate them. Whether it’s isolating a system, using engineered solutions, or adjusting the method altogether, we stop the SHOK before it starts.
Own Your Part
Discussions emphasized personal accountability and proactive ownership. We heard stories from the field about team members who spoke up, asked questions, and took steps that prevented incidents. These moments aren’t just powerful—they prove that safety is a shared responsibility.
Continue Learning
Job sites and offices nationwide hosted live demonstrations and interactive learning sessions. These hands-on experiences allowed teams to reinforce critical skills and understand how continuous learning supports safer work. Even as it relates to psychological safety, some learning sessions focused on mental wellness and suicide prevention. It also reminded us that safety isn't static; it evolves with every lesson, every near miss, and every job well done.
A Shared Commitment
At Aldridge, the work of building a safer culture never stops. We’re proud of how our teams showed up this week—in the field, in conversation, and in action.
