JAMES SPLENDORIA
Senior Vice President, East Coast
"To be a strong leader at Aldridge, you must first be a leader in safety. Being present in the field during a project's most critical moments is how we show our team that care and concern are more than just words; they are the foundation of our success."
From a One-Month Assignment to a 15-Year Legacy
With 25 years of experience at Aldridge, Jim Splendoria’s career is a testament to the opportunities found within a homegrown path. A pivotal moment occurred in 2010 when a requested one month assignment in New Jersey turned into a 15 year journey of building the company’s East Coast presence. Having been mentored by the company’s executive leadership throughout his tenure, Jim evolved from an Assistant Project Manager into a strategic regional leader. He believes that past methods should not dictate future operations, and he constantly challenges his team to innovate by remembering that how a task was done in the past may not be the best way for the future.
The Creative Contractor and Strategic Expansion
Jim identifies his leadership style as that of a creative contractor, a philosophy centered on innovation and the willingness to push an idea to its furthest potential. This approach has driven the Mid-Atlantic division to double in size over the last seven years, with a strategic vision to triple its footprint in the near future. A significant benchmark of this success was the acquisition of Chesapeake Electric, where Jim successfully integrated a large team into the Aldridge culture. By shifting the group toward new scopes and the Aldridge Way, he achieved exceptional employee retention and turned the division into a thriving component of the company’s national operations.
Relatability through Grit and a People First Culture
At the heart of Jim’s leadership is a deep relatability to the craft, rooted in his own history of manual labor during his younger years. He resonates most with the core value of ‘Put People First’, frequently spending time in the field with his workforce to show the human side of the business. As an early champion of the company’s safety journey, Jim believes that a culture of care has fundamentally changed the industry for the better. He is dedicated to creating a work environment that supports the whole person, believing that when families are connected to the mission, the professional and personal lives of his team are more deeply enriched.
