Rochester area reliability project (rarp)

This project, known as the Rochester Area Reliability Project (RARP), provides additional power to support growing demand, increase reliability, and accommodate economic development in the Greater Rochester region. Aldridge was contracted to work on 10 miles of this 345 kV transmission line. Scope of work included 109 drilled piers, 127 direct embeds, and 110 vibratory caissons. Work had to comply with Article 7 Guidelines, the toughest environmental requirements in the industry. Employees were trained for HAZWHOPPER to work in hazardous sites, requiring special PPE, and special procedures for decontamination of tooling and equipment. In addition, all spoils had to be stored in containers and disposed of at an approved facility. Stringent logistical planning also was vital to stay on schedule for crucial wire pulls.
