Aldridge leaders met with 3M to discuss use of the new 3M Smart Work -Leading Edge - Self Retracting Lifeline.

The meeting resulted in a collaborative design that is suitable for use in drilled shaft opening fall protection; i.e. a Leading Edge SRL with a shock pack d-ring extension. 3M committed to build an enhanced Self Retracting Lifeline and a d-ring extension with a built-in shock pack for Aldridge leading edge fall protection. The enhanced SRL will include a larger cable and higher locking velocity (to reduce nuisance locking) and a d-ring extension that will be constructed with and a built-in shock pack for leading-edge SRL protection for drilled shaft construction.
