Aldridge Completes Foundation Work in the Everglades

Early 2019, Aldridge crews wrapped up a year-long project working on foundations for the new 500kV Corbett-Sugar-Quarry T-Line. This line runs 69 miles from the Corbett and Sugar substations in Palm Beach County to the Quarry substation in Miami-Dade County.

Aldridge scope included 540 drilled shafts, 576 direct embeds, and 376 anchors. Our work also entailed installing drilled pier foundations and anchor piles.

Work along 15 miles of the overall project were only accessible through canal waterways. Honing in on our innovative strategies, the team utilized barges, concrete pump lines, and custom-built amphibious equipment to successfully complete the task.
