The Eldorado-Ivanpah Transmission Project is a 35-mile double-circuit 220 kV transmission line which connects the Eldorado (Boulder City, NV) and Ivanpah (Nipton, CA) substations. This line delivers up to 1,400 mW of new renewable power and was constructed as part of Southern California Edison's commitment to reaching their renewable power goals. Aldridge crews staged equipment, tooling, and poured approximately 800 cubic yards of concrete for 20 lattice structures via helicopter delivery method. The scope of work also included extensive environmental monitoring and protection measures for endangered plant, bird and animal species, site access, rough and varying terrain, and placing concrete in a timely manner in remote areas using non conventional methods.
